TTY/TDD & ADA Compliance Training

The Americans with Disabilities Act states the TTY training should be mandatory for all personnel who may have contact with individuals form the public who are deaf, hard of hearing, or who have speech impairments. It also states refresher training should be offered at a minimum of every six months.

Students in this class will receive instruction on requirements listed in the ADA Access for 9-1-1 and Telephone Emergency Services. They will also receive a TTY Quick Reference Card, information on case law involving 9-1-1 and the hearing impaired, an ADA Best Practices Tool Kit for 9-1-1 and Emergency Communications Services, and a TTY Performance Evaluation Instructor Guidelines manual. Hands-on training with our TTY system will also be provided.
